Music to her ears . . .

Well, the fever continues to be an issue. They started Kathi on antibiotics today to see if there is any improvement. Once again all her vital signs are stable. They changed her head dressing today, and finished the "special" haircut from last Wednesday - a very special military haircut, aka - buzz. I think she was considering a new hairstyle anyway.

The trauma surgeon suggested and approved an iPod for Kathi to listen to some of her favorite music beginning today. So - we made that happen this evening. Thanks to everyone who hustled to get it done - they actually downloaded music off of her office computer iTunes where she had a large file of her favorite worship songs. So the plan is to give her music stimulation for short periods of time. It could be merely a coincidence, but her blood pressure came down as the music played.

She is still moving her left hand with some purpose - rubbing the sheet covering her. Her arms are restrained to prevent pulling out IV's and tubes, so her ability to move is a little restricted. Her left eye continues to open when people talk to her, or the nurses are bugging her. Actual focusing is not known.

Just a reminder - no visitors are being allowed at this time. Some sweet people dropped by today, but were turned away by the medical staff. Thank you for all your love and prayers.

Praise the Lord for the work He is doing in Kathi, and through those who love and care for her. All for His glory! Kathi, we're all praying for you at Powerhouse Ministries for your healing and recovery. We talked about forgiveness and judgement, and prayed for Brandi and her family as well. And, what praises in hearing of Kathy's progress! Bless you, Lakeside family, for your love and prayers...and these updates. As Lynn stated, this is our lifeline to hearing of Kathi's progress. "For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20) What an awesome blessing to share in the prayers of others, and to pray for others who've posted here. In His Light, Cherie LaLanne

Father, we ask that you remove the fever from Kathi. We ask that you do not allow any infection to enter her body, In Jesus'Name.
We praise you for the small miracles you allow us to see and we praise you for your work that is unseen. I ask that you allow your servant Kathi to share in the witness of your Hand and that we may give you all the Glory.
With Love and continued Healing,

Dearest, and most precious to God, Kathi, I write this to you as your Lakeside sister. You are in my heart and my prayers. I am so proud of you Kathi for keeping your faith in our Great Physician and continuing to remain strong. Philipians 4:13 reminds you that you can do all things(even THIS) through Christ who strengthens you. Keep calling on Jesus to hold you and feed you His strength as you tire out. I know you must be getting very tired, but do not lose your fight! Be tough and courageous. There are many of us on your sideline pulling for you, but it is you who must do most of the work. I know YOU CAN DO THIS KATHI, through Christ and with Christ. He will see you through and many are being blessed already by the evidence of your faith in God as well as your reliance on Christ to keep you strong. I thank you Kathi for how your teaching has not only touched my heart, but been a blessing to my soul. Again, THANK YOU. For the family(incl. Kathi's friends): Having gone through this with both my daughters after a hit and run accident, I can say that reminding Kathi of what I said above, several times each day, can be encouraging to her, and the music is great! One of my daughters was in a coma for a couple weeks, and her sister who came out after 5 days told us to be careful what we said to her. Some things, like her fav. music, did lower her high heart rate, as did her father singing to her. My singing, however raised it! Hmmm, that hurt! Discussions about her 2 kitties(I think of Spike here) really seemed to cause anxiety, and her sister said it was because when you here people telling you things, you wonder why YOU aren't with your "baby" and why others are having to take care of them for you. In time, we discovered what helped her relax, so her body and mind could focus on her healing, rather than be worrying about the things we said to her. I am more than happy to talk to anyone about this if I could be helpful or encouraging. God bless all of you with His peace, comfort and everlasting love. Leslie Juencke

Dearest Kathi, we are still fervently praying for your healing. Right now, I ask God to blow His sweet breath on you to cool down your body temperature. I ask that He find the place in your body that might be fighting infection and stomp it out quickly. If your temperature is high because you are working hard to figure out what is going on, I ask God to give you His peace as His timing is perfect. While we may all be impatient and wanting immediate healing, His plans are the best. May God continue to hold you in the palm of His hand.
Love, Pam L.

There is nothing more relaxing than worship & praise music. I am so happy that they are able to provide you with your favorites. Kathi I pray for your peace, that you are resting and healing all over your body. Know that we are all praying for you and pulling for you and anxiously awaiting the time when we can see your sweet smile again.
Heavenly Father I pray that you will continue to heal your precious child, Kathi. Cool her fevers and bring her peace. Keep your angels watching over her day and night, comforting her. I thank you for the gift of Kathi in our lives and for the gift of technology so that we can continue to be updated on our Sister's progress. In your precious Son's name, Amen.

Hi Kathi!
Another "Spike Update"...Spike is doing very well! Although he does look at me when I come through the door as if saying "you're not my mama"! He's still purring and eating well and he wanted me to tell you he misses you and can't wait to see your smiling face! Love, prayers and hugs to you, Kathi!

I find myself wondering, "what's K4 dreaming about?" and "can she hear what's going on around her?" or "is she in pain?" or "what's God saying to her?"....then I pray that you are dreaming peacefully as God knits you back together. Counting the days when you are back with the FABS and you are eating a "normal" hot dog as K1 and I are eating disgusting Dinger Dogs. Love you, K3

iPod music - now THAT'S what I'm talking about! I knew you were one of the "K" girls but I didn't know you were a pod-head... That totally RAWKS. Keep you groove thang going on Sistah and when they finally let us in to see you we'll swap song lists.

P.S. I kinda hugged your Brother-in-Law on Sunday, I hope that didn't freak him out but I was so excited to meet them - I just was being myself.
