Sunday Small Talk

I know for many of you, this is a lifeline to Kathi. So, I am diligently filing the latest blog even though there hasn't been much change, or things to report. I visited with her today for about thirty minutes, and she was exhausted from the beginning. We read her most recent cards - she enjoyed the riddles that were sent to her - and that just about wiped her out. I was informed that she still isn't sleeping well at night (only about 4 hours last night) and that is tough on her.

She was gracious and excited to see me, though. We talked a bit and I commented on how her memory was a little fuzzy. "Really?" she asked. "Did I tell you that I recently married Robert Redford?" She gave me that famous grin, and then admitted that her memory was fuzzy. I'm amazed that she never misses an opportunity to make me laugh.

This begins week two of rehab. Please pray for her ability to get some good sleep - especially at night. Pray for strength and continuing healing of her brain. Praise God for her sweet spirit and sense of humor.

Thanks so much for the update. I, too look so forward to hearing about how Kathi's sense of humor and grace continue to shine through.
Father, I thank you for all that you are doing in Kathi's progress. You truly are the Great Physician. I beg of you to allow Kathi some much needed sleep so she can heal. These are long days for her and her caretakers, please give them strength and stamina to stay the course. Please continue to work Your miracles on Your precious daughter. I ask these things in Your precious Son's name, Amen.
God Bless~

Kathi,
Know you are loved... I stood in line Sunday to give blood, like many others, in your name. We wish we could put are arms around you daily. We wish all your pain could just vanish, but God has chosen to allow you to go down this path... maybe so, to show us how we should bind together to pray for one another daily... maybe to show us how fragile life really is and how we take it for granted... maybe to show us how we should have put our arms around you all along, and thanked God for you before this happened... who knows the mind of our gracious God? But He loves you in amounts untold. Rest assured he can let you sleep in peace now... ok ?

Hey Kathi,
Keep up the good work! You tell those rehab therapists that your friends want you to be ready for Foxy's Fall ride in October of 2009 so they better start getting you ready! I just want you to know that you are always in my thoughts & prayers. I really miss seeing your smiling face. Keep working hard so they will let you have visitors! We want to come see you!

Love ya girlfriend,
Debbie Friesen

I can just see your face when you're cracking those jokes. Robert Redford? I mean, isn't he a little old for you? After all...
Dear Wellington sends you goodbye kitty kisses as he is on his way to heaven. I'm sure Hack and Kitty will give him a warm welcome! Meanwhile, my prayers continue for you each night! Heal well, my friend!

Kathi,

My thoughts and prayers are with you everyday. I know that God never gives us more than we can handle even when we think "Okay God enough already". Your strength and sweet spirit is such an inspiration to me. Keep pushing forward sweet friend. Jesus is right by your side encouraging and loving you all the way and so are all of your prayer warriors!!

I know when my Mom had brain surgery she was on a medication that kept her from sleeping well. Once we changed the medicine she slept much better!!! Just thoughts!!

You are beautiful and very loved Kathi!! I pray for some restful sleep for you and that the love of our great LORD will fill you in abundance!!!

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:1-2

Big Hugs, Lynn
